Project 1 Examples
This assignment enables you to use Photoshop to create a graphic composite. You will use multiple selection techniques that we have covered in the class, especially the alpha channel as a masking technique.
For this project, you will be required to use different source elements to create an image composition. In the shared folder, you will find some sample images under a folder called “Graphic Composition” for inspiration.

Please follow the graphic design process that we have discussed in class. You will write a 2-3 page (font size = 12, double spaced) paper answering the following questions:
What idea do you want to communicate? What are you doing for the THINKING process? (Thinking about the problem, solution and audience) What are you doing for the LOOKING process? (Doing research on other similar designers and inspiration from outside sources) What are you doing for the DOING process? (Different trials on the computer) What design principles do you plan to use? How did you use them?
Second, create a new, blank file to which you will add your images.
Third, in your file use a combination of elements from a minimal of six individual sources. At least 2 of your images should be your own original photo - digital, scanned, or both.
