Advanced Typography:  Class 4

This course is a continuation of Typography with a concentration on hand lettering and typeface creation using pencil, paper, pen, and the computer.  Emphasis is on applying the rules of typography, exploring visual hierarchy, and using graphic software effectively,  Making your own typeface is a great way to show off your design and illustration skills and of course a milestone for any designer!

1.  Course schedule and locations

2.  Installing your font
  • Download your font to your computer and install it based on class instruction
3.  Using your font
  • You will now use your own typeface that you created to make an ad and show off how marketable your typeface is. 
  • This is a great way to showcase your font creation and layout design skills in a portfolio
  • Decide which industry would best be suited for your font and then create a fake company and design an advertisement using your font!
  • Feel free to use whatever software you are most comfortable using
  • Don't forget to use strong visual hierarchy!
